What to do about Columbia House scam?

I'm being called by a collections agency saying that I owe $93.00 for my account at Columbia House saying that I got CDs in the mail in 2007 and didn't return them so they kept my "account" and were charging me. I never received a call or notice of anything until yesterday and now they want me to pay the balance or they will take me to court. I've read many complaints about this company and their scams and found that even though they reported them, nothing was done and they still had to pay. Some didn't but even though I don't remember subscribing to them, I figured I would just pay it off so my credit report could have it as paid rather than delinquent when no one will help. Their customer service is an automated machine so there's no way to get through to them. Nothing is being done and I don't want to go to court unless I find that after I pay, they continue to charge me. Has anyone been in this situation and what did you do? I see many complaints but nothing is resolved and now this has hurt my credit score for the next 7 years.
